Rachel’s Remedy won the $20,000 top prize in the University at Buffalo’s Bright Buffalo Niagara Entrepreneur Expo this week.

The start-up also earned an automatic pass into 43North’s semifinals, acceptance into Critical Path, which is a life sciences accelerator program, and an opportunity to pitch at an upcoming Upstate Venture Association of New York event.

Rachel’s Remedy makes comfort pads for breastfeeding mothers. It competed against four other finalists.

In a separate contest, SweetSpot won the $5,000 People’s Choice Award, in a contest that featured 16 presenters making 90-second pitches.

SweetSpot uses artificial intelligence to track real-time parking availability.
