A record of 41 women including Beyonce, Miley Cyrus and Hillary Clinton made it to this year’s Time 100, an annual list of the world’s most influential people, released Thursday.

This year marks the 11th edition of the list that Time magazine publishes highlighting people whose achievements have shaped culture, politics, sports, business and other areas of life around the globe.

“Every year we’re trying to put together a list that isn’t simply a picture of the most powerful or the wealthiest people on the planet, but the people whose influence is really rising,” said Radhika Jones, deputy managing editor, who oversaw the creation of the list.

This year’s list includes many women who not only achieved fame in one area but built on their success to gain influence beyond their profession, the magazine wrote.

Beyonce was chosen not only for her achievements as a singer but also for creating music that sparked global conversation about feminism and women’s issues, the magazine noted.

This year’s list also includes NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden, soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo, Russian President Vladimir Putin, actor Benedict Cumberbatch and US Federal Reserve chief Janet Yellen.

The youngest members of the list are 16-year-old Pakistani teen education advocate Malala Yousafzai and 17-year-old top-ranked amateur golfer Lydia Ko from New Zealand.
