An Enterprising young Bahraini with a passion for fashion has set up a mobile beauty salon to help busy modern women look their best.

Fatima Mohamed Saeed, 23, first had the idea of starting her new business while in high school, when she wanted to get ready for a party but none of her family would take her to a salon.

“I thought of all the women who are unable to go to salons for whatever reason, or depend on others to take them,” said the young university graduate.

“I kept on talking about this problem and shared my ideas with my best friend, Hawra Jalal, who agreed with me and we started doing research.”

Once the pair had completed their studies, they used the knowledge they had gained from their business degrees to approach Tamkeen and ask for a loan.

“Initially, the aim of opening a mobile salon was to help women who are too lazy to go out,” said Ms Saeed.

“But slowly we came to understand the reason behind this — basically women are too busy caring for their house, husband and children, and many prefer to spend time in the house with their family rather than go out and beautify themselves.

“They get so busy with their schedules at home or at the office and they forget about themselves.

“But they don’t need to worry, as we will go to them rather than asking them to come to us.”

Ms Saeed said her Go Gorgeous Mobile Salon offers manicures, pedicures, facials, threading, waxing, hairdressing, and make-up, as well as all the services offered by other non-mobile salons.

“We go to houses, offices, hotels, furnished apartments and even hospitals,” she said.

“Everyone asks why we need to go to hospitals, but the answer is simple — many pregnant women, who are unable to go to the salon because of their delivery, call us from the hospital and we go to them. “Our staff members, who are well-trained and qualified, wear uniforms and have badges to show and have easy access.”
