Business Highlighting Female Entrepreneurship Will Open Next Month

Two Fayetteville women, entrepreneurs in their own right, are creating a business to share their knowledge to help other women achieve their own entrepreneurial goals

Sabrina Hendley-Hunter and Aneisha Bussey will open Brwn Girl Productions in the Westwood Shopping Center next month. Both attended HBCUs, with Hendley-Hunter graduating from Fayetteville State University with a degree in criminal justice and Bussey graduating from North Carolina Central University with a degree in biology.

With their degrees, Bussey, 28, and Hendley-Hunter, 34, have each worked in the corporate sector, but they decided to go into business for themselves to have more time with their kids.

“We’re not fit for 9 to 5 because it does not allow us the flexibility to be moms, and our children are active,” Bussey said. “We were looking for an opportunity that would allow us to still obviously be financially stable, but allow us the flexibility to enjoy being a mom and enjoy our kids.”

Brwn Girl Productions will share a space with their Selfie Wrld franchise. Selfie Wrld is a studio stocked with unique settings for the selfie-lovers to use as backgrounds.In the space for Brwn Girl Productions, the women will hold seminars to teach other women how to make a business plan, get funding and more. They will also provide a venue for entrepreneurs to host functions like business brunches, luncheons and meetings.

“We want to be able to pour back into other women of color and help them in any way possible, even if it’s just being a resource for encouraging and motivating other women to get out and start these businesses (by putting) ideas to use and sharing information or having informative sessions,” Hendley-Hunter said.
