Julie Perger is quite literally opening her house for her open house event. The professional organizer is hosting a ribbon cutting for her new home-based business, Addition by Subtraction Organizing Solutions.
With the help of the Forest Grove/Cornelius Chamber of Commerce, she’s also using the ribbon cutting as a chance to spotlight other area home-based businesses.
Refreshments will be served during the event, which takes place from 5-7 p.m. Monday, July 13 at Perger’s home, 1350 Snapdragon Lane in Forest Grove.
Perger said that unlike a brick-and-mortar business which can garner foot-traffic, as an owner of a home-based business, “you have to really being putting yourself out there to let the community know you exist.”
Perger, who started Addition by Subtraction last August, quit her day job earlier this year to make a full-time job of her organizing business. She had previously worked as a respiratory therapist for 20 years.
Fourteen other entrepreneurs will be at Perger’s open house with tables to display their products or information about their services. They are:
