Texans To Pitch Their Inventions To Good Housekeeping, HSN

Three Texas entrepreneurs, including one Houstonian, are among semifinalists who will pitch their inventions to Good Housekeeping and HSN on Friday.

The pitches will be made to a panel of industry professionals at HSN’s headquarters in St. Petersburg, Fla. Nine finalists will appear on HSN in December.

The Texas companies are:

Cynthia Wark of Houston: She created the Personal Go Fan, a rechargeable fan that can be used anywhere.

Cindy Holland-Rodriguez and Andrea Rodriguez of San Antonio: They created Pumpkin Powder, a lightweight makeup powder.

Jennifer Whitehurst of Austin: She created Pipsqueak, a smartphone for kids that combines age-appropriate hardware with easy-to-use parental controls.

The winner will be featured on HSN as part of its American Dreams initiative, according to the news release, and their product will be awarded the Good Housekeeping Seal for a year beginning next spring.
